COURSE PLAN
This is a Level 1 National Pool Lifeguard Award Course run by Water Safety Ireland. The aim of the award is to enable a candidate to act as designated lifeguard, trained in Pool Rescue and Basic Life Support techniques. He/she will also have an awareness of First Aid and Pool Water Analysis.The Award is valid for 2 years and on expiry a revalidation course will need to be completed within a year. If not revalidated within the year then the full course needs to be completed again. The course is given by a Water Safety Pool Lifeguard Course Provider and examined by a Water Safety Examiner. Your Providers and Examiners are Mr. Sean O Keefe, Mr. Pop O Hara and Mr. Eoin O Driscoll.
This course is a Level 1 where the successful candidate will receive a Level 1 certificate. Level 1 certificates are awarded to those who are judged to be competent to supervise swimming pools or sections of a swimming facility, where the water does not exceed 1.5metres.

1. Bring your own water bottle, lunch and energy snacks if required.
2. Bring spare togs, swim hat, goggles, pool shoes, fins (only if you have them), two towels, towelling robe/tracksuit for deck work.
TIMES
The course will run from 9am to 4.30pm each day.
9am to 10.30am approx Swimming
10.30am - 11am Break
11am - 12.30 Lectures
12.30 - 1pm - Break
1pm - 2pm Swimming and Staged Incidents.
2.15pm - 3.45 Basic Life Support ( Resuscitation) Training
3.45 - 4pm Break.
4-4.30pm Lectures and Worksheet Completion.
